Job Description

Residential Program Worker (RPW) / Direct Care positions available - Full-Time positions available in residential settings for adults with intellectual disabilities at several locations in Washington, PA.

Starting hourly rate is $12.47, Paid Time Off (PHO) and 90% Employer-Paid Health Insurance (Full-Time Only) after 90 day probationary period.

Requirements

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A valid PA Driver's License preferred.

Must be able to support adults with intellectual disabilities in their activities of daily living, such as cooking, cleaning. laundry, grooming, transfers, range of motion exercises, positioning, crisis intervention, etc. Must be able to assist on outings, such as medical appointments, personal shopping, etc. Must be able to assist in leisure activities.

Must be able to assist in lifting over 50 pounds which may require bending, squatting, and turning to achieve proper positioning/placement of individuals. Must have the knowledge and the physical capability to participate in applying physical restraints. Must be capable of maneuvering mobility devices. Must be able to speak and write fluent English, as well as see, hear, stand, sit, walk and drive.

PA Criminal History Checks will be performed on all prospective employees who live, or have lived in PA for the last two years according to 55 Pa. Code, Part I, §51.20 and Part VIII, §6400.21.

Federal Criminal History Checks will be performed for any prospective employees who currently live outside of PA or have not lived in PA for the last two years according to 55 Pa. Code, Part I, §51.20 and Part VIII, §6400.21.

Wages and Benefits At Time of Hire (Full-time and Part-Time): Competitive hourly wages and Employee Counseling Services through The Washington Hospital’s EAP Program.

After 90-Day Probation (Full-Time Only): UPMC Health Insurance paid 90% by Employer, Vision Benefits, Seven paid Holidays per year, Paid Hours Off (PHO) – 72 hours for the first year of service prorated by month of hire, 112 hours for the second year of service, 152 hours for two – five year of service, and 8 additional hours per year up to a maximum of 200 hours.

After 1-Year of Service: 401K Retirement Plan with a 4% Employer Match
